Thumbnails to Show You the Way
- There is a parking area along Stump Road and a sign that says “Steinman.”
- You will see two trail entrances; take the path on the right with the wooden posts you can walk through.
- You will hike on a narrow path with a downhill edge on your right.
- The trail gets steep and goes up and down so take your time and watch your footing.
- You may (depending on recent rainfall) cross over a small stream that you can step over.
- You will then come to a fork; bear left here.
- The path will go uphill and then there is another path to the right, but stay straight on your path. If you do go to the right, you will come to a waterway that is not safe to cross.
- Continue ahead and you will note that the path takes a sharp left turn. If you do not make this left turn, you will come to the back of a green sign that notes that the area is private property.
- Taking this left on the path, you will head up a steep hill.
- The trail then levels off. Look to your right and notice a tree standing more alone than the other trees. The post can be found here.
- Before hiking onward, look back and see how far you’ve come and the woods around you.
- The path ahead once again has a fork; stay on your path to the right.
- The path becomes steep uphill and then downhill. Keep hiking along and you soon will arrive back at the parking area.
